1. The Elopement Day: A Timeline of Romance and Magic
Your elopement day is a journey through romance, beauty, and pure joy. Here’s a glimpse into the timeline of the most romantic elopement we’ve ever seen in Provence, lovingly brought to life by our team:
- 6:30 PM: Ceremony by the Medieval Gate
The ceremony unfolded in front of the magnificent medieval gate—a first for Château Martinay. Sarah, the Château’s Events Manager, was thrilled to witness this underutilized spot transformed into an iconic ceremony location. The floral design by Celine Braun featured an asymmetrical suspended arch that appeared to float in the evening breeze—a breathtaking centerpiece that set the tone for this magical evening.
Wedding celebrant Alexandra Baro led a deeply personal ceremony, guiding the couple through heartfelt vows and the emotional exchange of rings. It was intimacy at its finest, a moment where time seemed to stand still. As the couple spoke their promises, the soulful notes of a violin played by Claude Costa, founder of Botticelli’s artists, filled the air, enhancing the already palpable emotion and creating a truly unforgettable moment. This unique setting, combined with the couple’s personal touches, made for a ceremony that was as intimate as it was extraordinary.
- 7:00 PM: Photoshoot in the Cypress Aisle and Château Grounds
A Dreamlike Stroll Through Château Martinay
After the ceremony, the couple strolled through the stunning grounds of Château Martinay, capturing the most beautiful moments with the talented photographer Valery Villard. From the iconic cypress aisle, lush with vibrant greens, to the refined interiors of the château, every photo was bathed in the golden light that only Provence can offer. The soft blue sky, unique to this region, made every shot look like a painting—an unmistakable touch of this dreamlike setting.
Adding a touch of vintage flair to their day, the couple was lucky enough to have a drive in an iconic green TR3—the latest gem in the Provence Classics collection. This vintage beauty not only made their arrival unforgettable but also became an exquisite backdrop for their couple photoshoot. The charming lines of the car, set against the stunning Provençal scenery, added a dash of classic romance to their already magical elopement…
- 8:00 PM: Dinner Under the Stars
Unlike traditional weddings, elopements don’t have a cocktail hour—there’s no need for it when every moment is intimate and personal. Dinner was set with the warm glow of 30 sumptuous candles by Parfum de Lumière, beautifully arranged with tableware selected from Maison Options Aix-en-Provence with the selected tables and chairs at Be Lounge, all based in Aix-en-Provence. An exquisite meal by Helen Traiteur (based in Avignon) awaited the couple, with a menu signed by chef Benjamin Brussiaud and orchestrated on day of elopement in provence by Erwan Debono.
